The Holiday Inn Winchester is to host a third special charity fund-raising event for two Hampshire based charities with their popular Curry and Quiz event on 19th April. The two charities that will benefit from the event are Trinity Winchester, which provides vital practical and emotional support to over 600 people each year who are experiencing the effects of homelessness. The second charity is Hounds for Heroes which provides specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the UK Armed Forces and Emergency Services.
The hotel has supported both charities for many years, with staff giving up their spare time to prepare and serve food for homeless people at Trinity Winchester, as well as the staff taking part in the Big Sleep Out at Winchester Cathedral. The hotel has also been sponsoring Hounds for Heroes for over four years, providing free accommodation and training space for the injured veterans to train with their new assistance dogs.
Sarah Waddington, the hotel’s sales and marketing manager commented:
“Our first Curry and Quiz fund-raiser quickly sold out and those who came wanted regular return matches and to sample our award winning chef’s amazing Indian Buffet again. Many of those who took part said that the Curry was the best they had ever tasted! So by popular demand, we have decided to have another fund-raising event for two very special charities that we are already actively supporting in practical ways.”
The fund-raising evening on Thursday, 19th April will include home cooked Indian Buffet, specially prepared by the hotel’s 2 AA Rosette Award winning team, with all the fun a quiz. The food will be served from 7pm and the quiz will start at 7.45 pm. Tickets £14.95 per person and include an Indian buffet and the quiz.
The hotel’s General Manager Marc Solarz is a very keen quizzer and puts the quiz together as well as acting as Quiz Master, he commented: “Curry and Quiz is such a winning combination and is lots of fun. We will also representatives from Trinity Winchester and Hounds for Heroes with assistance dogs at the event.”
