“Self taught, I have been painting in oils from my own photos for over 10 years. I come from a background of technical draughtsmen so the challenge for me is to create photo realistic work without losing the personality or mood of the subject. I use thin glazes of oil paint to create depth and velocity which bring my paintings to life. They take months (and on occasion, years) to create as I wait for each layer to dry before I continue working on them - you really have to experience seeing them to fully appreciate the presence they radiate.
